Keith Benson may land in a familiar city in NBA D League

With the news former Oakland star center Keith Benson has signed to the NBA's Developmental League, what's even more intriguing are his possible landing places. A report by SB Nation indicates Benson could fall to either the Sioux Falls Skyforce or Tulsa 66ers in the waiver order.
The report speculates Benson could instantly become one of the league's premier players.
"Former D-Leaguer Ivan Johnson took the spot that was presumed to be Benson's in training camp, but the 6-foot-11 center will likely be one of the best big men in the D-League as soon as he joins a roster."
The Golden Grizzlies won the past two Summit League Tournament championships at Sioux Falls Arena, home to the NBDL's Skyforce, and appeared in another final. In all, Benson has played nine games inside the venue.
The Grizzlies also played their most recent NCAA tournament game in Tulsa after playing conference rival Oral Roberts once each season at the Mabee Center. While the 66ers play in the Tulsa Convention Center, Benson is likely familiar with the area at this point.
The Skyforce are affiliated with the Heat, Magic and Timberwolves, while the 66ers feed the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Two other teams high in the waiver pecking order are the Los Angeles D-Fenders, a Lakers affiliate; and the Springfield (Mass.) Armor, which aligns itself with the Nets.
An announcement was expected Thursday.
