Reggie Hamilton left off list for Cousy point guard award

Among his many accomplishments, Oakland guard Reggie Hamilton had been among the early list of candidates for the Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year awarded by the Basketball Hall of Fame. However, Hamilton was left off the list of the award's 20 finalists.
Some familiar names appear as finalists including Detroit sophomore Ray McCallum and Michigan freshman Trey Burke.
Hamilton is third in the nation in scoring, including a 41-point effort at Valparaiso last month.
McCallum and Hamilton, for comparison, have nearly identical numbers, but Hamilton has nearly a full assist more per game on a team in which he is the leading scorer. Hamilton's assist-to-turnover ratio is also nearly identical to McCallum and Hamilton is averaging a full steal more per game.
The chart below looks funny, but basically says Hamilton is the superior point guard in this case.
IUPUI's Stephen Thomas was also nominated, but South Dakota State's Nate Wolters was not included.
UConn's Kemba Walker won the award last season and other past winners include Ty Lawson and Raymond Felton, both out of North Carolina.
