Slow start for Oakland's Reggie Hamilton at Portsmouth Invite

After coming off the bench for his team in Wednesday's game at the Portsmouth Invitational, former Oakland guard Reggie Hamilton committed four first-half turnovers, but settled down after the break, as the national scoring champ finished with nine points, three assists and five turnovers in his team's 85-73 victory.  He played 25 minutes, shooting 3 of 5 from the floor.
Chace Stanback, Jordan Taylor and Jason Clark instead started at guard for the Cherry, Beckart & Holl team.
Hamilton's teammate and Detroit standout Eli Holman also had nine points to go with 10 rebounds and two blocks.
Hamilton didn't get to the free-throw line in the game, as has become his routine, leading the nation in free-throw attempts and makes. He was also without his familiar No. 23, wearing No. 22 at the four-day camp which has representatives from all 30 NBA teams.
Fellow Summit Leaguer Charlie Westbrook of South Dakota reportedly had 15 points in 31 minutes in his team's first game. Oral Roberts' Dominique Morrison reportedly had six points, while IUPUI's Alex Young had nine points in their teams' debut.
Hamilton and Co. will be back in action Friday at 7 p.m.
